Today’s Business Briefing

Targeting Teens

Retail is the theme today– in the Las Vegas Business Press business briefing.

Most aren’t even out of high school.

But it’s america’s teenagers that are fueling much of the economy.

Here in Southern Nevada… teens are a key audience for businesses.

So much so, that representatives of the marketing firm KPS 3 recently attended a conference in Utah — to learn how to better reach them.

Nationwide, teenagers spend about 150 billion dollars every year.

Banking on Retail

We’ve seen a lot of changes in the local banking industry this past decade.

And whether a bank survives or fails — depends largely on the success of retail here in Clark County.

So is the slowing economy causing concern?

Not according to some insiders.. who say sales remain brisk here at home.

A Whole New Look

And speaking of sales — expect plenty of them at the Fashion Show Mall… along with a whole new look.

It’s the biggest facelift ever for the 20-year-old property.

When finished next year, the Fashion Show will host eight department stores… including the first Nordstrom store in town.
